Great success for Martin Schefzik (8e)

3rd in the Sprachmania competition 2012

Every year the winners of the regional language competition in English, French, Russian, Spanish and Italian take part in the grand finale in Vienna, hosted by the Wirtschaftskammer.
This year Martin could beat his competitors in Vorarlberg easily (after being the runner up last year) with an excellent performance and this meant off to Vienna, facing the other eight regional winners. And Martin did a great job again. On his way to his fantastic third place he had to produce and present a video about himself, convince the nine members of the jury of his fluency, ability to discuss and to interact in a debate about cosmetic surgery  and he was confronted with “his” grandfather who, driving his vintage car, was a safety hazard not only for cyclists and pedestrians but also for teachers.  After leaving six other contestants behind, Martin finally took the 3^rd place in the nationwide contest.

And at the end of an eventful and exciting day he was awarded the well deserved prize: all in all 700 Euros, train ticket to Vienna and one night in a hotel and above all a lot of new experiences.

Congratulations to Martin and hopefully more students from our school will grasp the opportunity to take part in the Sprachmania 2013. It is definitely worth a try.
